My Bit of Miracles

Aye gang! I thought I would share my bit of the miracles coming in from Karratha.

Transfer news will be getting to you next Tuesday....Labor Day pushes our p-day back a day.

We have been working hard up here in the Pilbura and the Kimberly areas this week. We had the exciting opportunity to go to Broome this week (Wednesday-Friday)! I was able to see the likes of Gantheaume Point and Cable beach. It is tourist season up here in WA. The weather has cooled down to a nice 30 ish. Everyone comes up our way to find cool aboriginal art and have a wonderful time in the semi tropical weather. Elder and I were able to participate in a community walk. So like other events here, we are the Labour force. We did the entire set up and take down for the Karratha Community Association. We had a blast learning about the area and rendering the service for the people of Karratha. We were stationed on the Yarburra Heritage Trail as support for walkers in need. Then we went to some local community markets that evening to cap off the day.

I would highly recommend the northwest region during the winter (June – August). It has some of the best star viewing in the world and good hikes, fishing, touring around.

The miracles really showed themselves on Sunday. Elder and I walked over to our investigators house to pick him up for church and for once, him and his misses came! That was a blessing. Later that evening we were able to do a big cottage evening with the Kaka family and with some of the part member families in the area. Elder and I testified powerfully of the Plan of Salvation. That and other activities in the mix make for a good week and some blessings. We are working hard and expect mighty miracles.

Have a blessed week!

Don't Trust the Meatless Lasagna

Had some really eventful stuff happen but it is not all mission related ha-ha.

This week I had a surprise visit to the ER so that was fun. I accidentally ate some nuts. My word of advice, don't trust a meatless lasagna ha-ha. So I got some pictures of that. I am all good now, I just swelled up like a balloon for a bit.

On Saturday while we were helping out at the community gardens, we found this giant spider. It is easily as big as my hand. The funny thing is, is that it isn’t even poisonous! It is just massive. The species is called a golden Orb because of the gold looking webs that they weave.

Mission related the week went by in a blur. Because of our trip to the ER, we were not able to make it to Broome so we are looking to reschedule that. Our Zone Conference, which gets shipped up to us via USB was tampered with. We got 7 .5 hours of BYU TV instead of training. So I guess you could say it was a blessing ha-ha.

Elder Kenyon and I have been doing the Heritage Trail hike I was every other morning for morning exercise.

All in all this week was pretty run of the mill. Our investigators are doing good. We are trying to prep an aboriginal man for baptism his name is Bundi, like Bunderberg, the beer. There is a PMF (Part Member Family) that has recently taken interest in the church again. We are seeing miracles, but they are small.

All is well I am alive and the work still goes on. I feel a little like Paul when he got bitten by the poisonous snake ha-ha.

For my spiritual highlight this week I gave a talk on "Take the Holy Spirit as Your Guide by Larry Y Wilson". I prepared heaps and I very much enjoyed comparing that with President Russel M. Nelson’s talk from Sunday morning conference so give that a look.
