Zone Bingo

Hey sorry I didn't have any time to chat this week. We have temple P-day today and big plans to make it out to some sights. We are very busy at the moment. The zone is a tad lack luster so we found a way to spice things up. We are doing zone bingo. Each daily challenge allows them to mark off the corresponding number with the challenge. The grand prize is that us a zone leaders shout that set of missionaries for a free lunch and who wouldn't want that.

We just had stake conference here this past weekend. Elder Stephen and I were greeters at the door so everyone was aware of who we are and what we are up to. We met a cool guy named Louie and gave out heaps of Books of Mormon the past couple of days. We are looking forward to reaping some rewards for the hard work but we will see.

Other than that, a lot of tracting and a huge service removing 15 trees from a yard over the past week. Other than that Elder Stephen and I are doing really well. We are a tad upset that the transfer is flying by so quickly. I have to give a talk this up coming Sunday and I still have no Idea on what to give it on so wish me luck.

Hope you have a blessed week. We are looking forward to general conference.

Tell Cale to get better soon.

I love you all.

New Area, New Companion, New Calling

Hey guys it’s been a while; good enough for a monthly email. J

This month has gone by crazy fast and been full of fun. Earlier in the month we had the Assistants to the President and the new Mission President and his wife up here touring the Pilbura. When they came to visit they brought in smartphone.

This month we were able to bring our weekly average of lessons up which was a major blessing. We are teaching two aboriginal couples and trying to progress them / move them towards marriage. We are also teaching an elderly lady and her grandson and they very much enjoyed learning about the plan of salvation. We picked up a Filipino investigator and her family. They have been in the area from the Philippines for about two years now. The family is a mix of catholic and born-agains and took a lot of interest during our lessons.

Sadly, as the progress has picked up, I have to leave. I am being transferred. At least, I set it up for the next fellas. I will be heading down to the Dayton area which is very close to Perth city, to be the Zone Leader over the Dianella zone. I am excited for the opportunity to serve and to help out as much as I can. I will be serving with a Scottish elder named Elder Stevens.

I have loved the members and the area of Karratha. I would recommend seeing the rock art here and fishing if you know someone with a boat.

Love you all,
Chance

Dad's Update

Unfortunately, we have not gotten a weekly email from Chance in a while and for that he apologizes.  It is easier for him to communicate on a weekly basis through Google Hangouts.  We are encouraging him to write though so that you hear updates on his mission from him rather than us.

Chance continues to be in Karratha (Northwestern coast).  This is his fourth transfer there and he is happy to continue there as he loves the location as well as the people that he has met there.  He continues with his companion that he has had for 3 transfers now.  He is happy and excited to continue to do the work there.

He had a good birthday, but as with most holidays it was hard to be away from family.  He is being called the old man in the mission as he is now 20 when most of the others will go home at 19.  Chance is on the downhill slope now having passed the year mark of his mission in mid June.

The work is going good.  Chance and his companion are doing a lot of service and working with the youth.  They have one person that has committed to baptism and they are looking forward to that.  Their teaching pool of investigators is growing.  According to Chance, it is slow going and often frustrating, but their hard work is starting to bare a bit of fruit.

Chance is having a lot of fun serving the Lord and is learning a lot.  He wants you to know that he loves and misses you all.

Here are some of the most recent pictures from Chance.
