Not Prepared for the Heat.....or the Flies!

Hey Gang.

It has been a busy week. The flies are back, the heat is coming and no one is prepared. We are inching into the 30's.

Elder Harris and I have been working our butts off. One of the biggest blessings was seeing two less actives we are teaching actually make it to church! Other than that the week has had its ups and downs. The area that we are serving in has heaps of potential but making that into reality is always the hard part. We had to drop most of our teaching pool because they express lack of interest. A big problem that we see is that people don't want to put in the work and keep commitments to fulfill there desire of getting to know God.

Lately, my studies have been all over the place but I got around to reading Doctrine and Covenants 82.  It is a really good section, I would highly recommend it.

Our mission president has been pushing us to listen to the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square (motab) the rest of the transfer. It has been a good switch.

Some of the other things we are doing is to come up with ideas for the Christmas season for better ways of proselyting.

Not much else at the moment.  At some point we will be mvoing areas with some of the other areas.  There will be a lot of exchanges coming up. We had 2 exchanges with the Girrawheen area; Elders Moefui and Strihavka. They are the best. Samoan and Austrian.

I hope all is well back home.

Love you all.

Christmas Album on Repeat

Dear Family,

A lot has happened since last week. I am going to have to start writing weeklies until we get Google Hangouts back in the mission.

As a zone, we have just begun an initiative called #720 our goal is to visit 2 members a day for each companionship in the next 30 days. Elder Harris and I both felt prompted that this was what was needed in the zone to begin and break down the barriers with doing member missionary work.

Another thing that was recently introduced is that the music selection has just been changed. We are now only allowed to listen to the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. So, we have been listening to a Christmas album on repeat for the past several days. If you have any more of that, we would love to listen to more than Silent Night. Christmas is just a tad ways away.

On another, note we had a couple miracles finding. Just the other night everything just seemed to fall through and our hopes were dashed. We begin to tract with little to no success. It is brimming on the late evening and you shouldn't really knock at this hour but to finish off the street, we go to the last door. Our enthusiasm was waning. We meet a gal named Sashma from India and she is an honest seeker of truth. That one tiny miracle of being able to share the restoration with her turned the whole day/week around.

We are really working closely with the ward to build a good relationship with the ward council and members. We had two baptisms in the zone this past week which has been a huge blessing.

Things are really looking up. Hopefully with this jammed pack week we will be able to make some good strides in achieving our goals!

Love you all.

Hot Minute = Long Time!

Hey Gang!

It has been a hot minute since I have sent something out. No I haven't died or anything like that but it has been a busy little bit. We as Zone Leaders have had a jam packed time with exchanges and fun p-day adventures with the Elders.

My Scottish friend Elder Stephen is leaving me. He is heading down to the Southern River Area to be a Zone Leader down there. I was giving him all the tips and tricks. I will be getting Elder Harris from Utah. It should be a busy transfer.

We were also told that the location of the Zone Leaders apartment in our zone will be moving. So over the course of the month we will be prepping for that.

Some exciting news is that the zone should be set to achieve 5 baptisms within the month which is very exciting. I have a lot of faith that they can pull it off. At the moment we are still just working our tails off with some member visits and whatever appointments we can manage. However most of the days we are tracting heaps which isn’t a bad thing.

I am excited to see what this transfer has for us. I hope it will be a good one. We have some killer District Leaders in the zone.

I love you all have a good week or till I catch up with you again.
